Bioinformatics and Biostatistics

Caprion provides a full bioinformatics and statistical analysis service offering to support data interpretation and decision-making. Upon initiation of a study, a Statistical Analysis Plan (SAP) is developed, which verifies the purpose of the study and defines the analysis approach, including:

  • Sample randomization
  • Data normalization method
  • Statistical tests that best fit the study design and goals
  • Comparisons to be made and significance thresholds
  • Peptide-to-protein roll-up

Caprion has experience with a wide variety of biostatistical tools to support selection of initial candidate biomarkers through characterization of clinical assays. Some commonly used methods include:

  • Univariate and multivariate analysis
  • Principal component analysis
  • Hierarchical clustering
  • Pathway analysis
  • Area under the Receiver Operator Characteristic curve
  • Development of classifiers

Study results are assembled into an easily interpretable Final Report, with:
